Note: Do not attempt to remove a partition made with the Boot Camp Assistant using Disk Utility! How to partition your Mac using Disk Utility. For other uses, Disk Utility is free and will do the job. How you repair a disk depends whether it's your Mac's Startup Disk (the disk that you Mac runs from, where the operating system is installed), or a separate disk that's plugged into your Mac. If you have not DVD 9 disc, you can still use the Best Performance option, but you have to split your DVD movies into two parts and burn them separately onto two DVD 5 discs. Before burning, you can create an ISO file by going to Burn Save ISO Image File and play with your media player to check the video quality.

To fix 'Not enough space on the disc' problem, select Standard or High Quality from the bottom right corner of the main window of the program. This reduces the size of the file but also reduces the quality of the output file. The Best Performance option provides the best quality but is the biggest in size. Standard has the lowest quality but is the smallest.
If DVD movies size is much larger than the DVD 5 disc capacity (4.7GB), or if what you want the highest video quality, then burn movies to a DVD 9 disc (7.9GB). If you have not DVD 9 disc, you can still use the Best Performance option, but you have to split your DVD movies into two parts and burn them separately onto two DVD 5 discs.
Tips: 1. Before burning, you can create an ISO file by going to Burn > Save ISO Image File and play with your media player to check the video quality.
2. With the help of the blue bar at the bottom of the program, you can easily deduce the DVD movie size and ensure the size has not exceeded the capacity of the select DVD disc type.

The dynamic disk will use the space from other drives so that you can have enough space to complete the operation.

WARNING: If you converted the basic disk to dynamic disk, you couldn't convert the dynamic disk back to the basic disk. Before you get started, ensure you know what you're doing.

Here's how to convert the basic disk to the dynamic disk:

  1. Open Disk Management.
  2. Right-click on the disk which has the problem and select Convert to Dynamic Disk.

    Ensure the disk is a basic disk. If the disk is already a dynamic disk, this method doesn't work for you. If it's a basic disk, you can see the drive marked as Basic as follows:

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the conversion.
  4. Check to see if the problem is resolved.
